Hyakutake Color Gallery
Look at the collection of finest colour images, obtained at the Crni Vrh Observatory during the April 1996 with both, CCD detector and color films. Color images taken during the March, 1996 are displayed on Hyakutake Images Pages.
These are nearly true-color CCD images of comet Hyakutake composed from two separate frames taken with the H2O+ and red continuum filters. They were extra processed by Bojan Dintinjana to meet the nearly true-color balance in a way that blue color represents the singly ionized water ions and the yellow-reddish colors the dust component. Images should be credited to Bojan Dintinjana and Herman Mikuz.
Wide-field color image of comet Hyakutake, taken on 1996 Apr. 6, with the 2.8/90mm lens, CCD and narrow-band filters (H2O+ and red continuum). Two consecutive frames of 5-min duration were taken between 19:18 and 19:40UT. The frame field of view is 7.1x4.8 deg.
